Very close call for employee

An employee of a business in the Blyvoor area had a very close call when a robber shot at him this week.

According to the Carletonville police, the incident happened at the Blyvoor Spar complex at around 21:30 on Monday, 12 April.
Two employees were standing outside when three men armed with handguns walked into the complex. Two pointed their firearms at an employee and forced him to go back into the takeaway shop. The third man walked to the filling station on the same premises.
Inside the shop, a suspect threatened to shoot the employee, but his accomplice persuaded him not to. However, they took all the money in the cash register, ciga- rettes and the employee’s Mobicell cell phone. They then returned to their accomplice at the filling station’s tuck shop.
The third suspect had taken money from the cash register and forced the other employee to lie down outside the shop with his arms against his body. The robber then fired a shot at his upper body. Miraculously, the bullet scraped between his torso and left arm. He escaped with a graze on the left side of his upper body.
The employee pretended to be dead until he heard that the robbers had left on foot.
Although all three suspects spoke Zulu and Tswana, the third also spoke some Portuguese.
The police are investigating a business robbery and attempted murder charges following the incident.
