The Carletonville police say the incident took place at a business in Van Zyl Smit Street on 9 April.
An employee of the cash loan business was in her office at about 16:00 when an unknown man walked in. The stranger pulled out a firearm, pointed it at her and forced her into the business owner’s office.
He made her reveal where the cash was kept and grabbed several thousand before running from the scene.
The employee was unharmed in the incident.
