Loving dog in need of a new home again

A lovely, extremely friendly dog adopted from the Carletonville SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and nursed back to health towards the end of last year is looking for a new home again.

According to the Carletonville SPCA inspector, Ms Elloise Rootman, Roman was just skin and bone when he was taken into the kennels in November last year.

Because of his wonderful temperament, even though he had more than enough reason to mistrust humans, he was adopted a few days after he was allowed to be released.

“Roman now understands what love feels like and has developed a very playful, busy personality. His adopters brought him back because, at their age, they cannot keep him entertained as he should be,” says Rootman.

Roman is now one of several beautiful animals in the organisation’s kennels looking for new homes. For more information, call the SPCA at 018 788 6262.

You can also visit the kennels in Beerster Street from 09:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 11:00 on Saturdays. People with emergencies can also call them at 064 752 6035.
