According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health this afternoon, there are now 4 288 residents of the Merafong City local municipal area infected with the coronavirus. This is luckily only 12 cases more than yesterday.
A total of 3 921 of these people have already recovered from the disease.
Unfortunately another resident of our area died of Covid-19 during the past day, which brings our total death toll to 106 cases.
In the meantime there were also less new cases of people infected with the coronavirus elsewhere in the West Rand. Only 48 new cases were reported in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) and only 37 new cases in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
