Motorists warned of fake police stopping cars on R59

Police in Kliprivier at Midvaal in conjunction with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) have urged motorists driving on the R59 and Kliprivier Drive to drive with vigilance and caution.

Police spokesperson sergeant Tintswalo Ndhambi says, ” There have been some reports of vehicles operating again, stopping people. Do not stop for any unmarked vehicle with blue lights trying to pull you over.”

Ndhambi states that the suspects wearing police uniform hijack victims and drop them off at random places.

“Should you feel that something is wrong or that you are being followed, continue diving slowly to your nearest police station or to a busy area where it will be safer to stop.”

Motorists are urged to be on high alert when travelling on these roads. Motorists are urged to contact the police, local security companies or the CPF should they feel like they are in danger.
