According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health this afternoon, there are now 4 086 people who have been infected with the coronavirus in the Merafong City local municipal area. This is 31 cases more than yesterday.
Of the total cases, 3 686 have recovered and 99 have died.
The number of cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area) also increased with 71 to 11 498, or which 10 282 people recovered and 306 passed away from Covid-19.
There are also now 6 226 people in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area) who have tested positive for the disease. This is 53 more than yesterday. Of them 5 486 have recovered while 99 have died.
