According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health, there were only 33 new people from Merafong who had tested positive for the virus since yesterday.

There were also fewer new cases elsewhere in the West Rand. There were only 57 new cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) and 65 new cases in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
