According to figures released by the Gauteng department of Health this afternoon, there are now 19 114 people who have been infected with the disease in the West Rand.
The cases in the Merafong City municipal grew with 31 to 3 614, of which 3 296 have already recovered.
There are also now 10 169 cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area), of which 8 848 recovered and 5 325, of which 4 555 recovered in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area).
Two people died in Covid-19 in Merafong City the past day, which brings the number of deaths in our area to 86.
So far 130 people have died of Civid-19 in Mogale City and 135 in Rand West City.
