According to the Carletonville police, the guards at East Village at East Driefontein’s second boom gate were doing routine tasks when the incident happened just after mid-night last Monday morning. As if from nowhere, a group of four to five men stormed up and started shooting at them. The guards returned fire and killed one of the assailants. Another three of the thugs were hit.
