Swimming club starts new season

Members of the Merafong swimming club started their new season this week.

According to one of the members, Annalisa Freese, club members started training on Wednesday, 30 October. Activities began a month later than usual because of the Covid-19 lockdown. The swimmers will again direct their practice at preparing for the annual Midmar Mile in February. There will also be classes for those who want to take up the sport for the first time. From this year, practice takes place at the swimming pool of Carletonville High School instead of at the Carletonville swimming pool. Training will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Tuesdays and Thursdays for Foch-ville swimmers. Anyone who wants to join the club should contact Gerrie Grovè at 072 086 3241. He has been the club’s official coach for the past ten years.
