House robbery in Lomati Street

A house in Lomati Street in Carletonville became the scene of a house robbery.

According to the police in Carletonville, the incident took place on Friday, 18 September.
The family was not at home, but their gardener was busy in the yard. Suddenly, three unknown men stormed up to him.
They assaulted the gardener, tied him up and went into the house. They grabbed a variety of property before fleeing from the scene.
Following the incident, other homeowners in the street are considering closing one side of the road, which lies between Kareiga and Pepani streets.
They hope that having only one access point will deter criminals.
The Herald tried to contact Merafong City Local Municipality about the steps residents should follow if they want to do this and if such clo-sure was even possible.
No information was forthcoming, however.
