House robber threatens child

A panga-wielding robber threatened a child while he was sleeping at 01:19 on Monday.

According to the communication officer of the Carletonville police, WO Peter Masooa, a woman in Talc Road checked her doors and windows before she and her children went to bed on Sunday evening.
Her son woke her up to tell her that someone was in the house, however.
The woman went to the dining room, where she found that her Hisense plasma television and Volcano speaker had been lifted from their stand. She went back to the boy, who said he had been asleep in his room when an unknown man, armed with a panga, came in.
The suspect ordered him to hand over his phone, money and laptop, which he did.
When the woman returned to the dining room, she found the robber had removed the burglar bars and broken a window to gain entry.
The police have since opened a case of house robbery.
