Watch out for thugs poisoning dogs

The Carletonville SPCA warns that the poisoning of dogs have suddenly started escalating again in Carletonville.

“Pet owners must be very alert of this crime as new cases have been reported all over Carletonville,” says SPCA inspector Mr DJ White.
He adds that dog owners must preferably check their yards for meat that they have not placed out before letting their dogs out in the mornings.
The SPCA also sells kits containing activated charcoal at R35. This is, however, not a cure but can save a dog’s life until they are taken to a veterinarian.
Anyone who needs more information, can contact the Carletonville SPCA at 018 788 6262 or visit their kennels in Beerster Street.
