Bitten, stabbed and raped by drunk boyfriend

A 30-year-old woman from Ext. 11 was allegedly bitten repeatedly, stabbed and raped by her intoxicated boyfriend.

According to Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, Kelebogile Trom, the suspect returned from work on Saturday and went back to his girlfriend at 23:00. The victim says the boyfriend was drunk when she opened the door for him. He immediately started caressing her and she tried to push him away. When he ignored her protests, she left him and went to the bedroom to get some sleep. While she was undressing, the suspect came into the bedroom and ripped off her jeans. A fight ensued, he overpowered her and she fell to the ground. The suspect tried to strangle her, ripped off her underwear and raped her. In the process, he bit her and stabbed her in the back.

In another incident in Ext. 7, a 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her boyfriend and his friend.

Trom says the complainant, her friend, boyfriend, and her friend’s boyfriend decided to sleep over at her boyfriend’s place after a night out at a nearby tavern.

The victim, who had had too much to drink, passed out shortly after arriving at her boyfriend’s house and only woke up at 11:00 the following day.

She immediately went over to her friend’s house and heard that both their boyfriends had had sex with her while she had passed out. She admitted that she did not remember anything, Trom said.

The police are urging women not to drink excessively because they are easy targets and end up becoming victims of rape. Trom also warns women not to walk home with strangers after a night out.
