A woman was stabbed to death and her friend is in the hospital after her estranged boyfriend attacked them in her own bedroom on 22 August.
The incident took place at No. 5129 in Khutsong Extension 2 late on Sunday night, after Sesi Motlhaoleng and her friend had been visiting another
friend. When they left, they decided to go to Sesi’s house. On their arrival, the friend noticed the boyfriend climbing out of a bedroom cupboard in which he appeared to have been hiding. Unconfirmed reports suggest that he had come seeking revenge after the break-up. When he found no one at
home, he gained entry into the house using a spare set of keys and hid away in the wardrobe until Sesi arrived. When Sesi’s friend noticed that he
was carrying a knife, she attempted to stop him and was stabbed in the back. The suspect then turned on Sesi and stabbed her under her left breast.
After she promised not to call the police, he left the house and the bleeding victims went to seek help from the neighbours. Sesi and her friend were both transported to the main clinic in Khutsong by ambulance. The friend’s knife wound was treated, but police say Sesi was certified dead on arrival.
Police are investigating a case of murder and the suspect has since been arrested. The family of the victim was shocked by the incident and did not want to comment as they had no idea what went on that night. A close friend of the Motlhaoleng family describes Sesi as a darling with a
