Fochville squash players on the go

Our local squash players are doing well.

Fochville Squash Club players beat their opponents from Potchefstroom last week.

According to Mark Metcalfe from the club, the players competed against Potch Country Club at the Gert van Rensburg Sports Complex on Wednesday, 8 May.

“The teams won two matches each. However, we won nine games against their seven, which made us the winners. This is our third game so far,” says Metcalfe.

At the Fochville Squash Club, the Fochville players, Jan Barnard and Gerhard Pretorius, beat Garnet Visagie and Christopher Thompson from Potch with scores of 3–0 and 3–1, respectively.

The Fochville players, George Campbell and Adrian Stallenberg, lost 1–3 and 2–3 against Louis le Grange and Danie Schutte from Potch.

Fochville’s players won six games against their opponents’ eight games in an earlier competition against Rustenburg. In another competition against Potch Country Club, Fochville won three games, while their opponents won nine.

Fochville, Klerksdorp and Rustenburg have one league team, while Potch Country Club has three.
