Tlotli Maduenyane is a 21-year-old female Amapiano artist going by the stage name “Tlotli Violet” who is determined to take the South African music industry by storm.
She was inspired by her mother who has been very active in the entertainment arena. Her personal journey began when she was nine years old taking the role as a lead singer of a music group that she started with two of her primary school friends.
“We rehearsed every Friday after school,” she said. At that point Tlotli didn’t take her talent seriously as she thought it was just a phase, but she continued to perform for the next three years at church and other locations before the group parted ways after some members relocated. She then stopped performing, but managed to keep her passion burning by listening to music.
“Music has always been my first love,” she further expressed.
Around 2019 she had a close friend who is an Amapiano artist and through him she met other producers. She started working with Quellor Du Pour and Amapiano Chronicles. Together they managed to release five songs. She also worked with MaAfrika. She continued working on new music in 2021 with producer Naleletso. Tlotli regards herself as a general artist as she is not only invested in music but she is also into modelling, make-up and dancing.
Her music delves into her emotions and she uses it to express her feelings. Tlotli mentioned that her challenges have been the so called ‘gatekeepers’ in the music industry and as a female artist there is always an issue when she works with the opposite gender. Her motto in life is to ‘Portray yourself in a way that you would like people to see you.’
Her advice to young talented females is that they should learn to say no when they do not feel comfortable with some of the agreements, and her message to the youth in general is that they should get out of their comfort zone.
She looks up to the female Amapiano sensation Kamo Mphela and aspires to be an international artist. She is currently working on two new singles with well-known producer Man K.
