Carletonville tavern altercation turns deadly

The police are now investigating a murder case.

What started out as a relaxing evening at a local tavern, quickly turned into a murder scene.

This as a resident of the area was murdered at a popular tavern near the Carletonville Taxi Rank this week.

The incident took place on September 28.

Several people were relaxing at Red Cap Tavern in Amethyst Street when two of them got into an altercation at 19:50.

One of the men allegedly pulled out a firearm, after which the other man pulled out a knife.

He then stabbed the man 22 times.

The victim died at the scene.

Police arrested the man after the incident and charged him with murder.

It also came to light that the victim’s firearm was actually a toy gun.
