Fikile Muchave wins Best Gospel Song at Mzansi Arts and Media Awards 2024

Despite the challenges, Fikile's determination paid off.

The Merafong gospel sensation Fikile Muchave is proving that through hard work and perseverance anything is possible as she won the category of Best Gospel Song on Saturday September 21.

She participated in the Mzansi Arts and Media Awards 2024 which took place at the Victory Theatre at Houghton Estate in Johannesburg as she was nominated earlier this year after someone mentioned her as a suitable candidate.

She described her journey towards winning as a very tiring and difficult process as she had to campaign for the votes after she was nominated.

‘’I had to ask people around to vote for me as I remember going to the taxi rank to ask people for money for airtime and I had to convince my community members and friends to vote’’ She expressed. She also appreciates the support she received from her family, friends, church mates and team who vouched for her through promotional efforts to spread her plea for help to win the award.

‘’I am truly grateful for the publicity I received from the Herald newspaper as it played an important role in my journey,’’ she further expressed.

She experienced a tough time to get the votes until it was announced that she was one of the Top 3 finalists which meant that she stood the chance to win and she mentioned that it was overwhelming.

The event was then organized and after committing to launching her voting campaign she finally ripped the fruits of labor when she was announced as the winner of the Best Gospel Song category and she was thrilled as she did not expect to win because the competition was tough.

Fikile cried tears of joy as she delivered her acceptance speech with her husband standing next to her and brought the trophy home. She is continuing to make Merafong proud through her efforts to make it big in the South African music industry.

Fikile is an inspiration to many young people as she won the Shine Your Light gospel

competition recently where she won a prize of a free music video shoot which was broadcast on DSTV 1 Gospel music show.

She is humbled to win the award and very grateful to everyone who contributed in this achievement. Her victory indicates that local artists have the potential to be recognized on a

national level and she encourages anyone with talent to participate in such activities as they also stand a chance to win next year.

According to the gospel star the award will add value to her music career as it will boost her profile as an artist because in the market when an artist achieves such an award it makes

their music recognizable and opens more opportunities such as bookings.

Fikile would like to thank her supporters for making it possible to win this year as she has entered the awards in the past years but has not won so it means a lot for her to finally be a winner. The singer blessed the audience with a song after winning the award, thanking God for blessing her with the talent and the award.
