Municipal swimming pools reopened
Young people can now go and relax in the warmer weather.
For the first time in several years municipal swimming pools in our area were opened in time for the swimming season this week.
The executive mayor, Nozuko Best, opened the Carletonville and Fochville municipal swimming pools to the public on Saturday, August 31.
This is the municipality’s best performance with regard to this service in many years.
The municipal swimming season starts on September 1, but last year some youngsters had to protest before an attempt was made to open the Carletonville Swimming Pool. Both swimming pools had also still been closed by the November of 2022.
The swimming pool in Fochville had been closed for several years before this due to maintenance and vandalism issues.
According to weather reports both Carletonville and Fochville will have pleasant sunny weather over the coming weekend, which is ideal for swimming.
