Robbers used brute force to get into a home in Carletonville Ext 9.
The incident took place on August 7. A resident (36) was busy working inside his home at 17:53. The next thing he heard someone kicking down his front door.
The resident ran to the kitchen to try to get the key to the back door to escape. The robbers, however, caught up with him.
They grabbed the victim, forced him to his bedroom and tied him with shoelaces.
The robbers demanded the safe keys, but discovered there was nothing inside for them to steal.
They then grabbed a variety of electrical equipment including television sets and PlayStations and loaded it into a small white vehicle, with which they fled from the scene.
