A young woman from Blyvooruitzicht was allegedly assaulted and raped by a former partner this week.
The 20-year-old accompanied a friend to the shops in the area on August 2.
While on their way home at about 20:00 they were met by the young woman’s ex-boyfriend.
He started to assault her and forced her to his home. Once there, he forced her to take off her clothes and raped her, while continuing to assault her.
He only stopped when a neighbour came to his door.
The victim managed to flee the next morning and told a friend before reporting the incident to SAPS.
