House robber strikes in Boundary Street in Carletonville

The victim was woken in the middle of the night

A street on the far eastern side of Carletonville again became the scene of a violent crime last week.

The female resident of a house in Boundary Street was asleep in the early morning hours of July 30. The 24-year-old was suddenly woken up by someone entering her room. The intruder, who wore a beanie and mask, pointed a firearm at her and demanded her cellphone. Although the victim refused to do so, at first, she later became scared and handed her phone to him. He then tied her with a USB cable and grabbed her television set before taking off.

It was later found that the thug had gained entry to the house after forcing the safety gate and front door open.
