A young woman from Khutsong, Extension 5 survived a harrowing kidnapping experience this past week.
The family was asleep when they were woken up by a noise at round 23:00 on July 11.
They went to investigate and found three Sotho-speaking people inside their home. The suspects were armed with firearms and had broken into the home using a crowbar.
The suspects were looking for the mother but when the daughter (26) told them that her mother was not around, they grabbed her instead. They forced her into her silver Golf 7 and sped off. She was released two days later.
Investigations into the matter continue.
