Hoërskool Wonderfontein in Golden Lions finals

Their hard work has led to this achievement.

This coming Saturday, the 1st and the U17 teams of Hoërskool Wonderfontein will be playing in the Golden Lions Rugby League finals in Randfontein.

It is the third year in a row that Wonderfontein is represented in the Golden Lions finals.

The U15 team finished as runners-up in 2022, champions in 2023 and now two teams playing in this year’s finals. Both the U17s and the 1st Team finished top of the table with the U17 boys going undefeated and the 1st Team falling short only to Hoërskool Roodepoort during the league stages.

Hoërskool Roodepoort lost another game and with a total of six out of eight bonus points still ended at the top. According to Mr Dirk Pitzer, the head of Hoërskool Wonderfontein’s rugby programme, the school has a winning culture and an exciting brand of rugby.

“Our boys play beautiful and exiting rugby. This is winning rugby and a culture of winning that we established at Hoërskool Wonderfontein during the past four years. It is the hard work of our coaches and players that gives our school this winning culture. Please come and support our teams in Randfontein on Saturday,” says Pitzer.

Hoërskool Wonderfontein will be in action on the A field of Randfontein rugby club at 08:00 and at 11:00 this coming Saturday.
