Wanted murderers arrested
Detectives expect to link them with other murders in the area as well.
Dedicated detectives from Carletonville have tracked down two men in connection with murders in Blyvooruitzicht.
As far as could be determined, the detectives received information that two men who had shot three residents of Skoonplaas in Blyvoor in January were spotted there on Tuesday, 30 April.
Two victims died, one in the Carletonville Hospital.
The suspects, Lesotho nationals involved in illegal mining activities, have been on the run since the murders.
The Carletonville detectives followed up on the information but could not apprehend the suspects before they returned to Kagiso, where they had been hiding since committing the crimes.
However, the luck of one of the suspects ran out when he was shot and killed in Kagiso the same night.
As the other suspect was also the eyewitness in the murder, the detectives arrested him when he gave his statement.
They also arrested another suspect – a friend of the eyewitness – in connection with the murders in Blyvoor. Both suspects appeared in the Oberholzer Magistrate’s Court on murder charges on Friday, 3 May.
They did not get bail. Both are in their early 30s.
Police suspect the same suspects were also involved in other murders in the area.
