Taxi marshal murdered

There seems to be no end to the taxi industry related violence in our area.

A marshal died by murder at the Carletonville Taxi Rank on Thursday, 18 April.

The queue marshal at the rank was busy with his tasks at around 13:45 when two unknown men suddenly approached from the side of the Xhosa Section.

They walked to the marshal and shot him at point-blank range. The flying bullets also hit two bystanders.

Both were hit in their leg, one in his lower left leg and the other in his right leg.

The police are investigating murder and attempted murder cases.
