The long weekend had a fatal outcome for a resident of the area.
The incident happened on Friday, 22 March.
The victim (36) was relaxing at Red Cap Tavern on Amethyst Street in Carletonville that night.
A fight broke out between him and another man over a beer at approximately 21:10.
The argument grew more heated, and the other man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in his chest.
The 34-year-old suspect has already been arrested and appeared in the Oberholzer Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder on Monday.
