Hijackers strike on N14

Another hijacking occurred on one of the main roads in our area.

The Carletonville police are investigating hijacking and kidnapping cases following an incident last week.

A Sandton resident drove her white Toyota Hilux bakkie on the N14 around midday on Tuesday, 19 March.

She had just passed the four-way stop at the R500 crossing when the drivers of several vehicles gestured that something was wrong with her bakkie. Although she initially ignored them, she eventually stopped on the side of the road and got out to check. An unknown vehicle stopped behind her, and two men jumped out and ran towards her.

They grabbed her, stuffed her back into her vehicle and drove off. They eventually dropped her off next to a house in Soweto but fled with her vehicle.

The woman managed to get help from the police at Doornkop in Soweto, who transferred the case to Carletonville, as it happened in our area.
