Carletonville Hospital’s phone lines still not working

Here is a list of numbers to call in case you need to get in contact with the hospital.

Our area’s government hospital still cannot be reached by landline.

The hospital’s communication officer, Mr Matabo Letsoalo, confirmed that the hospital’s lines were still dead earlier today.

According to the DA’s Gauteng Shadow MEC for Health, Jack Bloom, Carletonville is one of 32 hospitals in the province that is affected. A total of 83 clinics are also having the same problem.

He says that the telephones at many Gauteng hospitals are still not working three weeks after the Gauteng Health Department admitted they were down because of unpaid Telkom bills.

This phone crisis has been going on for more than five weeks, causing immense distress as patients and their relatives cannot contact hospitals, and staff have to use their own phones for essential communication.
