Sports day draws many players
Soccer and netball players from all over the area participated in a community sports day in Khutsong during the holidays.
The director of Thibela Fun and Games, Khutsong Extension 4 resident, Mr Eric Maneli, organised the day.
The soccer and netball matches happened at grounds in Khutsong Ext. 4, while jumping castles and swimming pools were available for those who only wanted some fun.
Numerous businesses in the area assisted in making the event a success.
In the end, however, a team from Khutsong Extension 3, Adiwele FC, walked off as winners of the soccer tournament. The team received a cup, new kit and gold medals.Elijah FC from the Elijah Barayi housing complex were the runners-up. They also got a cup and silver medals.
The Tigers from Khutsong Extension 4 were the netball winners, and also received a cup, new kit and gold medals.
The Mighty Stars from Khutsong Extension 5 were the runners-up and took home a cup and silver medals.
Numerous junior teams also participated in matches.
“This event will take place every year, so we need all kinds of support from different stakeholders,” the enthusiastic Maneli added.
