Municipal financial system still offline

The Merafong City Local Municipality says that the problems it has experienced with its financial system have still not been sorted out.

Several residents have been struggling to pay their municipal accounts since the beginning of the year and started to make enquiries about the issue. The municipality then issued this notice about the matter on 1 January:

“Dear Customer, kindly note our financial systems are offline at this stage and the matter is being attended to and hope to be resolved as quick as possible.
