A young man from Carletonville was arrested after he threatened and tried to kill his family.
As far as could be determined, the man turned up at his parents' home on Station Street in Carletonville on Sunday. He tried to intimidate his parents, took food, but then left. He later returned and went to his room.
After some time, his mother smelt gas leaking. She went to her son's room, where she found him with an open gas cylinder. He told his mother he wanted to kill the family. The parents went to the police, who arrested the youngster for intimidation and attempted murder. He was due to appear in the Oberholzer Magistrate's Court on Monday.
