A girl at the Elijah Barayi mega housing complex allegedly went through a horrible ordeal recently.
At around 11:00 on 9 September, the girl's grandmother fetched the 10-year-old and her brother from the unit they shared with their mother and stepfather at the Elijah Barayi complex. On their way home, the girl's brother told the grandmother he had walked into the stepfather's room and found him making “up and down movements” with his sister. The stepfather then told him to watch.
The grandmother spoke with the girl, who confirmed the incident. She immediately went to the police to report the incident and took the girl to Carletonville Hospital.
The police's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is investigating the case.
