House robbers shoot brother in leg

Two siblings from Carletonville had an experience they will not want to relive this week.

The incident happened at Disa Place on 14 September.
A 43-year-old woman in the house woke up unexpectedly at approximately 01:00. She realised unusual sounds were coming from her brother’s room and went to investigate.
She had just left her room when she came face to face with two unknown robbers. They were wearing balaclavas, and one pointed a firearm at her. The woman quickly raced back into her room and locked herself inside. She heard a gunshot but waited until she was sure the men had left to go and check.
To her horror, the woman found her brother had been shot in the left leg. She immediately phoned an ambulance, and the paramedics took the victim to Carletonville Hospital.
The thugs had robbed her brother of his cell phone and laptop. Police later determined that the thugs had entered the home through the dining room window. The police have opened cases of attempted murder and house robbery.
