Thugs rob Westcol guards

Guards at Westcol in Carletonville had a harrowing experience when they were on duty at the college on Friday, 30 June.

They were busy with routine tasks when they suddenly heard a gunshot at approximately 20:15.
The next moment, they saw six unknown men approaching them. One had a firearm, and the other had knobkerries.
The thugs grabbed the guards, assaulted them and tied them up with their shoelaces. One of the guards suffered a broken arm during the assault.
The Sotho-speaking thugs stole their cell phones, a flashlight, a hand radio and boots.
The criminals then went to the generator and stole about 15 metres of copper cable connecting the generator to the main building. The supervisor came around at approximately 22:30 and discovered the robbery. He took the wounded guards to the hospital.
The police are investigating a business robbery case following the incident.
