Local dancers off to Nationals

Dancers from a Carletonville dance studio did so well that they are now proceeding to the Nationals.

According to the owner of Beat Box Dance Studio, Delarize Barnard, numerous dancers participated in the Talent Africa Regionals in Krugersdorp on 13 May.
Many of the students did solo performances and achieved excellent results.
Tatiana Gouws won gold in the Acro section, while Amoré Viviers achieved a high silver in the same category.
Mia van der Merwe also held the studio’s name high when she obtained a high silver in the hip-hop section.
Maroché Kasser obtained a high silver in the modern section, while Chloe Cory, Mianell Grobler and Anjell Smith obtained high silvers in the hip-hop section.
Stephy Esterhuizen also obtained a high silver in the acro section.
All these dancers qualified for the Nationals in September.
Three other dancers, Nadia Volschenk, Charne Volschenk and Jessica van Zyl, obtained silver accolades.
“I am very proud of all these girls. We competed as a studio and a group item, obtained high silver for our Zombie dance, and qualified for the Nationals. As a studio, we represent Gauteng with provincial colours,” says Barnard. “Hard work and dedication bring all of our
success.
“I cannot thank these girls enough for all their hard work. We will rock the stage at the Nationals; watch this space,” she added.
