Another taxi owner gunned down

A Carletonville taxi owner was gunned down in his vehicle during another murder related to the ongoing fight in the local taxi industry in the town last weekend.

The 42-year-old victim, his wife, a family friend and their children stopped at the Spar Tops bottle store at the corner of Dolomite Street and Onyx Drive at about 14:50 on Sunday.
The victim was a taxi owner belonging to Cuta (the Carletonville United Taxi
Association).
The woman and her friend entered the bottle store, leaving her husband in their Toyota Quantum minibus.
As she and her friend finished shopping and wanted to return to the taxi, two unknown men wearing hoodies told them to turn back. The women complied as they did not know what was going on.
The next moment, they heard several gunshots. The woman ran from the store and saw two men calmly walking away. She ran to their Quantum and saw her husband had died after being shot several times. Police later found more than ten empty 9 mm bullet cartridges at the scene.
