Experience the D-MAX Arctic AT35, the ultimate bakkie

Bakkie and double-cab owners are forever seeking ways to improve the appearance and performance of their vehicles. The AT35 offers a bold ready-made solution.

The D-MAX Arctic AT35 bakkie was developed through a collaboration between Arctic Trucks and Isuzu.

Arctic Trucks was founded in 1990 in Iceland and specialises in modifying off-road vehicles to operate in extreme conditions around the world.

Kevin Fouche, the department executive for product planning and programme management of Isuzu Motors South Africa, says, “The new D-MAX Arctic AT35 carries this legacy into the seventh-generation D-MAX range that we launched last year. This latest model asserts its unique positioning in the local bakkie segment with even bolder, more muscular styling that unashamedly points to the vehicle’s ability to tackle and conquer the toughest terrain with supreme confidence.”

The AT35 is based on the D-MAX V-Cross 4×4. The muscular body enhancements are added by trained artisans and technicians to ensure it can accommodate those large 35-inch tyres and improved Bilstein dampers and suspension kit.

A purpose-designed lift kit raises the ground clearance from 232mm to 266mm and increases the vehicle height from 1 810mm to 1 875mm. This is complemented by heavy-duty Bilstein dampers that provide the ideal balance between on-road composure and sure-footed off-road performance.

The standard vehicle’s wading depth of 800mm increased to 865mm. The approach angle is 33°, the departure angle 23°, and the break-over angle is 34°.

Equipped with Isuzu’s trusted 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, generating 140kW and 450Nm, the AT35 delivers excellent power and torque. The six-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth and efficient performance in all conditions.

The D-MAX Arctic AT35 delivers high levels of safety. Luxury and refinement are not compromised as it draws from the top spec Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross 4×4. It offers features like a stereo camera, sonar and radar technologies and various driving aids.
