Avoid the Kokosi area

Motorists are urged to stay away from the road past Kokosi due to increased protesting in this area.

Angry community members from Kokosi have been blocking the road to the electrical substation next to the Fochville Traffic Department since Wednesday. They are protesting over the ongoing electricity problems in the township.

As a result, residents of Fochville, Kokosi and Greenspark have had no electricity since this time.

According to reports the protesters also removed learners from Fochville Secondary School across from Kokosi this morning. They are also now part of the protesters blocking the main road between Fochville and the N12.

The intensity of the protesting escalated because the mayor, Ms Nozuko Best, are seemingly refusing to the meet with the protesters despite promises to do so yesterday.
