Video: Watch out at this stop

Drivers should be very careful at the four-way stop at the intersection of Agnew Road and Reinecke Street in Carletonville because no one seems to stop there.

A concerned resident of the area, Mr Jeff Ralph, made a short video to prove this point this week.
In just under the three minutes of the video, 28 vehicles had crossed the intersection. Of them all, only two drivers stopped, and that was because other cars were crossing in front of them. Cars, bakkies and trucks crossed the intersection.
“Where are our traffic cops? My daughter and granddaughter were in a collision because someone had skipped a stop street. The only speed cops that work in town are the grey one with a camera in Annan Road and near the silos in Ober- holzer,” he complains.
The Herald went to investigate at the same stop on Monday. Again, almost no one stopped.
Another particularly dangerous four-way stop is at the crossing of Annan and Agnew roads near the fire station.
The Herald took the concerns to the Merafong City Local Municipality on Tuesday.
“Motorists are advised to adhere to the legislated road rules,” was the only answer from the spokesperson.

See on this video, taken by Mr Jeff Ralph, why the crossing is so dangerous:
