According to Carletonville police’s communication officer, WO Peter Masooa, one of his colleagues was doing a routine patrol in town on Monday.
He drove through Annan Road at around 14:05 and spotted some suspicious individuals at a white VW Golf.
“He approached the suspects and introduced himself.
He asked to search them and the vehicle,” says Masooa.
When the officer compared the information on a tag in the car with the license disc, he found they did not match.
As he noticed two license discs on the windscreen, he also searched the information on the other disc.
He found that the car was stolen in Florida in 2012 and immediately arrested the men with the car.
