House robbers escape with valuables

House robbers targeted the home of a Carletonville family last week.

WO Peter Masooa of the Carletonville police says the incident happened in Gamka Street on Friday, 18 February. The owner of the house was asleep next to his wife when she suddenly woke him up at about 03:30. She told him she had heard someone she did not know talking to their children. Suddenly, the man and his wife heard a man’s voice in the bedroom. He told them to turn face-down onto their stomachs and not to try to activate the alarm. “I do not want to hurt you,” the assailant said. The couple did as the robber instructed and heard that he had at least one accomplice. The thugs took two laptops, four cell phones, a tablet, three gold rings and a camera before fleeing from the scene.
