Delivery truck hijacked

A truck doing deliveries at Carletonville Mall was hijacked and its crew kidnapped last week.

The police in Carletonville say that the incident happened on 24 November.
The driver of the RTT Logistics truck had just stopped at the back of the mall when the incident took place at approximately 08:15.
The driver and his crew member were still sitting in the truck, parked at the back of the Identity and Truworths stores, when a Toyota sedan, either a Carolla or a Conquest, suddenly stopped right in front of the truck.
Two masked men, one armed with a firearm, jumped out and ran up to the truck.
“Stay in the truck,” the two thugs told the personnel, before they jumped in on each side of the driver and his colleague.

The thugs drove off with the truck, while their two accomplices in the Toyota followed them.
They drove to the entrance of the Johannesburg Skydiving Club, where the thugs instructed the employees to open the back of the truck for them. They also demanded that the personnel take out all the boxes with cellphones and laptops.
They took the cellphones and laptops out of their boxes, throwing the boxes on the sidewalk.
Although two pedestrians walked by, the robbers bribed these people not to call authorities by giving them two boxes of clothes.
They then locked the driver and his crew member in the back of their truck and sped off in their Toyota with the stolen goods.
Luckily the victims managed to get help and reported the case to the police in Carletonville.
