Woman arrested after dog’s poisoning

A woman was arrested in Carletonville this week after allegedly poisoning her neighbour’s German Shepherd.

Carletonville police’s communication officer, WO Peter Masooa, says the dog’s owner was informed by her child that their family dog was dead on 14 July.
She immediately suspected that their neighbour had something to do with it as the woman had threatened to kill the dog the previous day. She claimed the dog was noisy and had done its business in her yard, despite the owner pointing out that the dog was kept in their yard and could not get out.
The owner also discovered that someone, presumably the neighbour, had placed a bowl with poisoned food near their fence.
