Intruders attack granny

An elderly Carletonville woman was viciously attacked in her home while recuperating from an operation last week.

The Carletonville police say the incident took place in Douglas Street in Oberholzer at about 14:00 on 6 July.
The 74-year-old homeowner was in bed, recovering from an operation when three men broke through the security gate at her front door. They stormed in and attacked her, looking for money.
In the process, they hit her with an object, leaving a deep gash in the frail woman’s head.
They stole her television, cell phone and a small jewellery box before reportedly fleeing in a white car.
The victim was taken to hospital, where she had to get stitches for her injury.
The Carletonville police are investigating a case of house robbery following the incident.
