According to statistics released by the Gauteng Department of Health this afternoon there were 111 new cases reported in the Merafong City Local Municipality area, 403 new cases in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) and 197 new cases reported in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area) during the past day.
This means there are now a total of 6 237 people who have been infected in Merafong, of which 5 530 have recovered and 233 patients have died of Covid-19.
Mogale City’s total cases are 16 937, of which 14 313 have recovered and 459 have died while the total number of infected patients in Rand West City are now 8 985, of which 7 596 people have recovered and 262 patients have died of Covid-19.
A total of 7 859 new Covid-19 cases were reported just in Gauteng during the past day.
