According to statistics released by the Gauteng department if health this afternoon, 12 new cases were reported in the Merafong City Local Municipality area during the past day. This means that a total of 5 502 cases have so far been reported in our area, of which 5 163 have recovered and 220 have died. Meanwhile there were also 91 new cases reported in Mogale City (the Krugersdorp area) and 10 new cases in Rand West City (the Randfontein and Westonaria area). There is now a total of 13 419 reported cases in Mogale City, of which 12 472 have recovered and 391 have died. Rand West’s total cases now stand at 7 245, of which 6 877 patients have recovered and 234 have died.
