According to the Carletonville police, the incident took place on Friday, 30 April. The driver of the truck belonging to a logistics company from Meyerton was driving on the P111 near East Driefontein when he suddenly noticed a white Volkswagen sedan behind him. The car had a driver and three passengers, two of whom were wearing uniforms. 
They gestured to the truck driver to stop and he pulled off on the side of the road. The uniformed men walked up to him and said they wanted to inspect his vehicle’s triangle. The driver got out and walked to the back of his truck with them. As he opened the back to take out the triangle, one of the men pulled out a taser and shocked him. They shoved the immobilised driver into his truck and drove with him to Johannesburg. They then dropped him off at Eikenhof and escaped with his truck.
