According to the Carletonville police, the man had been drinking with friends at a housing unit on the project’s ground floor on 6 March.
The party later moved up to the second floor. When the friends decided to go home, one of them, who, according to the police, was still intoxicated, accidentally stepped over the balcony instead of taking the stairs with his friends.
He was seriously injured and transported to the Khutsong main clinic.
He was later transferred to Carletonville Hospital and then to Leratong Hospital. He died of his injuries on 16 March.
